This brand didn’t start as a business; it began out of love and necessity, evolving into a passion. Years ago, when my children were small, they faced struggles with eczema, chapped hands—sometimes to the point of cracking and bleeding—and even psoriasis on their scalps. Doctors recommended year-round steroids, but I felt there had to be a gentler way to address their needs.

I searched everywhere for natural remedies, but what I found was often “natural” in name only. Most products relied on petrolatum and fillers that sat on the skin's surface instead of nourishing anything beneath. They didn’t soothe or heal, and I refused to accept that these were my children’s only options. Others in my family were also struggling with their skin, which made me realize I wasn't alone in this journey.

So, I turned to nature.

I began studying botanical ingredients like oils and butters derived from seeds, flowers, and roots. While my kids were at school, I would stand at my kitchen counter learning how each ingredient worked—discovering which ones calmed inflammation, which absorbed deeply, and which supported the skin barrier without relying on steroids or synthetics.

What started as a mother’s determination gradually transformed into a craft that carried me through many seasons of life. As a single mom, these handcrafted skincare remedies were not only safer and more effective; they were also affordable. Over time, creating skincare became a source of peace, creativity, and grounding for me.

Years later, after leaving an unhealthy marriage and rebuilding my life, I found myself in a quiet house. My youngest of five had just graduated, and for the first time in decades, I felt space opening around me—a moment where I could ask, What now?

The answer was clear: it’s time to bring this into the world.

Knot & Nectar is the culmination of years of learning, resilience, and the belief that skincare should truly nourish—not mask problems, not depend on harsh prescriptions, and not pretend to be natural while hiding ineffective ingredients.
